Violent Americans

The third and final band from the good ol’ United States of America is hardcore band, with a dash of street punk thrown in, Wisdom in Chains.

The original seed for the band was planted in 2001 when it was a trans Atlantic collaboration between Dutch band Daredevil and Pennsylvania hardcore band Krutch. Nowadays they are based in Stroudsburg, PA.

These six British dates are a rare treat for hardcore fans to see the band live. They’ve played the UK a couple of times, but until this week (and as far as I’m aware) these will be the first shows outside of the London border.

So like the other two bands on the bill I haven’t seen these live either beforehand. So all in all it’s going to be quite a new experience seeing completely new bands for the first time, which seems pretty rare at the moment.

So what do I potentially have in the gig diary for the last week of January?  It doesn’t seem like long ago when we were celebrating Christmas Day, now February is nearly upon us!

This weeks shows should have opened in Manchester with Motörhead and Saxon, but we all know that’s never happening again.

Wednesday 27th – Manchester, Sound Control

After H2O a few weeks ago and Ignite playing a one off show in London last night, we now get another show from what was travelling through Europe under the Persistence Tour. Manchester welcomes a headline slot by Terror, ably supported by Twitching Tongues and Wisdom In Chains.

Saturday 30th – Liverpool, Echo Arena

I haven’t got a ticket for this one yet, so I’m not sure if it’s sold out.  Headlined by Black Stone Cherry the Carnival of Madness hits the UK for eight shows. My main draw for this tour are the support bands Halestorm and Shinedown.  Depending on train times I could be home before Black Stone Cherry finish their set!
